Wow.

This made me laugh so much. I love Animal :)

Anyway, hello internet stalkers, this is Zanny calling on this fine December Night. I cannot type with my left index finger as it has extreme eczema (wow, totally never realised that word has a c in it and no x), or at least a nonhealing cut under the fingernail. What a bumface.

Had mucho madness and amusment earlier, elfing it up with Laura. Our elf costumes are now six inches shorter, but they still don't really resemble the costume in the photo, which is a, shorter and b, more fitted. I am considering writing an exasperated but polite email to the company and tell them that they are rubbish and misleading.
Still, the sight of us two in full elf regalia will be a sight to see, I can assure you of that.

Well, I believe that that is all from me for now, so I'll leave you with a quote.
As the one of the two IT guys that came to change the bulb in English today said;
"I'll be back."

Life, The Universe and Everything

This blog will have sections.

Section One: Merlin
I just watched Love Fool and it has to be one of the funniest episodes yet, with classic lines such as:
*Knock Knock*
"Who's there?"
"Destiny. Destiny and Chicken."
And the like. Anyway, lovedrunk Arthur=awesome.
Also, Merlin Secrets and Magic had lipsyncing in it from Bradley and Colin, which was...also awesome (I'm beginning to think that I'm overusing the word "awesome" almost as much as "lol" and ":P". I need a new word.)

Section Two: New Moon
First things first: I have never laughed so much in a film. Some of it was intentionally funny, but it was just so ridiculously melodramatic and slowmo-y that it made me want to hurl popcorn at the screen (so just as well I was eating chocolate raisins). It was much better than Twilight, though admittedly I haven't seen that since I saw it in the cinema, and that wasn't overly wonderful either.
Edward 'Sullen' (good name, Anne) lived up to his name. Although maybe a better name would be Edward 'Gray-heavily-shadowed-corpse' That's a quadruple-barreled surname, by the way.

Section Three: Uni
I have received 2 offers! Woo! One from choice joint number 1, one from choice 4 or 5 (haven't actually visited one of them) so that's a relief. My mum actually jumped up and down and squealed when I told her. I'm starting to think that maybe my grin and smile was an under-reaction, but hey, I'm my father's daughter, that's how we react. Unless I was to meet someone like Bradley James or Stephen Fry, in which case I would be very excited. For different reasons, obviously.

Section Four: QI
I almost died laughing when Alan Davis started sawing up the TV set. And when they started talking about their "Little Hoes".

That's it, really.

Morning, Merlin Fans!

I have not blogged for years.
That is, a short amount of time.
I have been mucho busy doing many things, none of which involve work, which is not good.
Having said that, I did just do my spanish homework.
Whilst listening to Absolute Radio's breakfast podcast because david tennant was co-hosting. It was very amusing....here is a lovely photo of him.

Fangirl

You know, I've never seen an episode of Merlin on TV.
All online. Which means as soon as I've finished the episode I go onto youtube and watch the cast videos or something and wish that I could be in it. Like, so much. I want to live in a castle, wield a sword and wear pretty dresses! I swear, I never used to get obsessed with tv like this. I don't even watch TV! (apart from Merlin, except I watch that on iPlayer.)

And I'm out tonight so I miss it. Woe, alas!

On a different note- 13 years today since I went to America! Anyone fancy buying me a plane ticket to JFK?!

Not amused

I was woken up at half past five by my dad in the shower room, listening to the radio. I got up when he came out and asked him why he was up so early, at which point he realised he hadn't turned his clock back yet.
I finally got back to sleep at around half 6, only to be woken up by my mum offering me some tea at 7. Apparently she thought I was awake because I was coughing. I chose to ignore her and pretend to be asleep in the hope that she might leave me alone for a few more hours. I was then woken up by her bringing me tea anyway at half past 7, which I ignored (it was just too early).
THEN, despite the fact that I am on half term and should be able to lie in a bit, I was forced to get up at 7:45 for no reason! I had no plans until the dentist after 11am (I'll get to that bit later). When I (grumpily) appeared downstairs, I was asked why I looked so sleepy.
BECAUSE IT'S EARLY!
That's why.
Okay, rant over.
The other thing is to do with the dentist. I have a new dentist as my other one left. I am very nervous around people who wield sharp pointy things at me, in particular my face (no innuendo intended, this isn't an English lesson on Dracula), but as it turns out my new lady dentist is very nice. The nub and gist of it is that I have to go to a clinic in Watford for a local anesthetic in order to get 3 fillings done. Damn you parents for giving me my dad's rubbish eyesight and my mum's weak teeth. Epic fail for me :(

Death by peanut butter

Just a quickie today, I think. I must stop procrastinating and get back to English. Surely I should find it easier to write this essay; I know everything but it's just writing things down coherently that I struggle with. If it was a speaking exam, I'd be fine- it's literally that I can't write as fast as my ideas. This was a huge problem, I remember, in year 2 when I missed out words and phrases as a result of a 'fast-flowing mind', as it were. Didn't amuse scary Mrs Betridge though.
Anyway, I made peanut butter sweets yesterday. They're like Reeses' peanut butter cups, only homemade and dark chocolated. Trouble was, I'd measured the peanut butter and sugar out before I realised I had half the amount of icing sugar I needed. I made half quantities instead, then made peanut butter cookies with the rest of the peanut butter and sugar (plus other ingredients). So now I am feeling totally overwhelmed by peanut butter. Not that it stops me from eating the sweets and cookies.
On the plus side, I am also eating satsumas cause having one at Laura's made me remember why I love them.
Back to English now, I think.

PS-Laura, I had cinnamon toast for breakfast today. It is made of AWESOME.

Doom of the human race

I will be very worried if one of my brownies runs for the foreign office.
How can you be convinced that olives, hummus and pitta bread all come from India? Fair enough, pitta bread *could* be confused with naan...but they realised that they were two different things, and STILL thought they were from India.
Also, upon asking a group of them what countries outside Europe speak spanish, I was greeted with answers such as "France!" "Sweden!" and "Canada". I'm not sure they'd even heard of South America before-even though another brownie had been talking about Peru about 20 mins earlier.

Honestly- the youth of today.

On the plus side, I did get to eat food from around the world, such as bakewell tarts, tortilla chips and prawn crackers (though I'm not sure exactly how chinese they actually are...).

My house is very very cold. I practically have to jump up and down to keep warm. Hence why I am cold as it's difficult to jump and type at the same time- especially with headphones in. I would also have to do some Irish dancing instead, as I'm listening to Riverdance, which is to me is like music of the GODS (and also my childhood), as well as being Irish and therefore pretty cool anyway. I really want to visit Ireland-it sounds like the sort of place that would really appeal to me, apart from the strong religious beliefs and the violence. And the heavy drinking culture.
But apart from that, it sounds goodly good.

These are mad and crazy times

And I've had far too much tea for past 9pm.
I also feel like I've somehow stretched my left cheek. It's feels...stretched.
Glad I got that one off my chest.

Today I did something stupid.
I bought a plastic tiara from paperchase.
I meant to go up and ask how much it was, but for some reason I forgot and just bought it.
It cost me £4. £4! I ask you, how much would you pay for something that looked like this:
http://images.celebrateexpress.com/mgen/merchandiser/57750.jpg
Hmm? About 20p...and that's pushing it. I might have to take it back.
On the other hand, I am SORTED for presents up until Mike's in November. Unless someone has a sneaky birthday that I forgot about.

I can't believe I just wasted an hour on facebook.

More McScottishplay

This was written in a petrol station, so I blame the fumes for the bad writing skills.
In keeping with the rest of the musical, this song is to the tune of ABBA's I have a dream.

I have a dream
To kill the king
And then I'll get
Everything
If you hear the wonders
Of the witches' tales
You can face the future
Cause you know you cannot fail.
I believe in magic
It can get me everything I need
I believe in magic
When I know the time is right for me
I'll kill the king
I have a dream.

Who knows, maybe it will also feature the songs "Lay all your guilt on me" and "The winner takes it all" (sung by Macbeth to Macduff, by the way).

Nameless

So today's been fun, if totally pointless and unproductive.
I spent the afternoon with:
1 year old twins
8 month old twins
3or4 year old triplets
A 3 week old girl.
And their families/friends.
It was next door twins' (Noah and Evelyn) bday party, y'see. And a bit of a rave...the cake was good and there was a lot of ballpool fun. So, all in all, lots of fun.
Other than that, I have done NOTHING today. Unless you count watching Eddie Izzard's Dress To Kill on youtube (which was brilliant, btw).
I am also quite jittery, on account of not having had much sensible food today. And probably too much sugar.
I also really want to go out (next door doesn't really count). AHHHH.
But I need to do some actual work or i might DIE. Figuratively speaking, obviously. Though if my parents come home and realise that I've done nothing all day it might turn literal.

MACBETH MUSICAL!

It's coming along quite nicely. Here is a verse and chorus from the song "Horror Horror Horror (Macbeth hast killed Duncan)", to be sung to the tune of Abba's "Gimme Gimme Gimme (A Man After Midnight)". If you aren't familiar with the song (have you been living under for the past two years?), here it is in full youtube glory: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JVIJU5poFvI

Half past 12 and I'm talking to myself
In the hall all alone
How I'd love to spend this evening on my own.
Wife comes in and I really with that she'd stop
All this nagging and complaining
'Bout how I said that I would kill him-now I can't

"Are you a real man?
You've got to kill Duncan!"

Horror horror horror
Macbeth hast killed Duncan
Won't somebody help me wash this blood off my hands?
Horror horror horror
Macbeth hast killed Duncan
Wifey would've done it 'cept he looked like her dad.

There you go. I am quite proud of myself as I cannot write songs and that was written in 5 minutes.

Why oh why do I fail at emergency stops?

Seriously. I tried like 15 times and only succeeded in not skidding twice. On the plus side, I only stalled once.
I used to be good at emergency stops, now my life is made of fail :(
Woe, alas!

I wish I was 8 again...

At least, in some ways I do. Ie, not having to worry about anything except feeding the rabbits etc etc. Now, 10 years and 2 dead rabbits later, the joy of ucas has arrived. And I mean that in the most sarcastic way possible, seriously.

Here are 5 things that I love about my life (an attempt to make me feel better):
1- I have the most amazing set of school friends imaginable. All very different people that merge together to form a group of oddities. But they are GOOD and NICE oddities, so I like them muchly.
2- It's a really nice day outside and has been for a few days. I like warm Septembers.
3- I recently recieved a £200 cheque, which would make any teenager feel happy.
4- I just ate a fairy cake, and there are more downstairs. Eating the last piece of cake is a sad experience :(
5- I intend to go shopping tomorrow as I haven't been into town properly in 3 WHOLE WEEKS which is very distressing. And I have money to spend and stuff to buy.

I feel better already :)

And FYI, my rabbits didn't die of starvation, I was a good rabbit-keeper. :)

Something I always forget...

...Is that I'm really not that keen on school. I mean, time in between lessons is alright, and seeing friends is good, but the actual lessons? I don't know. Sixthform is admittedly SO much better than lower school, and the courses are also much better, but it's like- why bother?

I appear to be having a midlife crisis at 17.

On a lighter note, the summer holidays are coming up, and they are going to be amazing :)
Cornwall, Bath, Croatia...can't wait for any of it!

I went into London yesterday for a Geoggers taster day thing, which was pretty good. Bit awkward cause I didn't know anyone there, but hey, it was still really interesting.

A last thought: Can't remember if I mentioned it before but my beloved and trusty iPod went missing (or rather, I put it somewhere and couldn't remember where), but it was found yesterday, and I have it back now, yay :)

S'laters, gators...
